Aurora Gaming had already beaten Vitality once this weekend, taking the upper bracket final and sending the French side the long way round. That is usually where a tired roster’s run ends.

Instead Vitality came back through the bracket and met Aurora again with the trophy on the line, and this time the series went the other way:3–1. Vitality’s own press release for the win is titled around taking their revenge, which is a fair reading of a team beating the same opponent within twenty-four hours of losing to them.

According to flameZ, having just played Aurora was the advantage rather than the handicap — they knew what was coming the second time.

That total is the part worth sitting with. MVP awards go to one player per tournament, at events stacked with the best teams in the world, and ZywOo has now collected thirty-three of them. Whatever argument you want to have about the greatest of all time, the raw count is not really in dispute.

The drought is over

HLTV framed this as Vitality’s first title since May— roughly four months without a trophy for a roster that spent the previous year winning nearly everything. For a team measured against its own 2025, a dry spell reads as a crisis long before it actually is one.

Barcelona answers that, at least for now. One title does not restore a year, but it does end the specific conversation about whether this lineup could still close a final.
