Angled 53 mm drivers, a detachable mic that genuinely holds up on comms, and no battery to fail mid-match. The Cloud line earned its reputation on comfort, and the third generation did not spend it.

Strengths
- Drivers are angled toward the ear rather than firing flat, which sharpens left-right placement of footsteps
- Analogue 3.5 mm as well as USB-C: it works on the tournament PC, the console and the phone with no driver
- Memory foam with leatherette that survives long sessions without the clamp headaches of stiffer bands
Trade-offs
- Closed leatherette traps heat — after three hours your ears are warm and you know it
- No active noise cancelling and no wireless option in this version
- The USB-C dongle carries the only virtual surround; on the 3.5 mm jack you get plain stereo
Why angled drivers matter more than driver size
Fifty-three millimetres is a headline number. The part that changes what you hear is that the drivers sit at an angle to the ear rather than firing straight at it. That matches the way the ear actually receives sound and improves how cleanly you can place a footstep to the left or right.
Wired is a feature here
Modern wireless headsets solved latency years ago. What they did not solve is failure modes: a battery that drains, a dongle that occupies a port, a pairing that drops. A 3.5 mm connection has none of those.
For competitive play, the argument for wired audio is not milliseconds. It is that nothing can go wrong at the wrong moment.
The heat problem, stated plainly
Leatherette over memory foam seals well, which is why isolation is good — and why it traps heat. Three hours in and you will feel it. Fabric pads breathe better and isolate worse; that is the trade, and there is no version that wins both.
Verdict
The default wired recommendation. Skip it only if you specifically need wireless or active noise cancelling.
