What the numbers mean

Reading m0NESY's configuration

Nine hundred and twenty eDPI is fast for anyone, and it is unusual for an AWPer. The stereotype says snipers play slow: a low sensitivity keeps the crosshair still while you hold an angle, and holding angles is most of what an AWP does.

m0NESY plays against that. His game is built on repositioning — taking a shot, moving, taking another from somewhere else — and that costs turns. At 560 eDPI a full turn is a forearm sweep you have to commit to; at 920 it is a movement you can make while already thinking about the next one.

The trade is that a fast sensitivity punishes a shaky hand. Every tremor covers more pixels, so the same physical wobble becomes a bigger miss. It works for him because the rest of the setup — a 2000 Hz polling rate, a large control pad — is built to keep small movements clean.

Before you copy it

An eDPI on its own tells you almost nothing

A professional's sensitivity was chosen alongside a specific mousepad, a specific desk depth and a specific grip. Lift the number out of that context and you get someone else's compromise.

Use it as a starting point instead. Set 400 DPI, set the in-game figure to reach 920 eDPI, then play a few hours and check one thing: does a 180 degree turn fit on your pad without lifting? If it does not, the number is wrong for your desk, whatever it does for m0NESY.
